Social Issues

 Hi! Today I will talk about social issues, specificaly about gender inequality. On english class we saw Emma Watson's speech about gender equality, what she talked makes sense to me, I really don't understand when people (men or women) say that men are better or have more rights than women. But I have to say that sometimes it can be the other way around even if is not that common it still happens.  I grew up listening to this kind of stuff but that did not stopped me from growing my own way of thinking. I like sports specially football so there were always people who looked down on me just because I am a woman. 

There are a lot of problems that come along with gender inequality, I will name some but there are more: domestic or any type of violence, salary diferences, predetermined colours, and even prejudices about sexual preferences. I heard somewhere the term of ''toxic masculinity'', it refers to the conduct some men have, they act like some kind of primitive animal, there is a word in spanish for that ''macho''. 

I believe this has to change in order to get close to gender equality..... Even if it is something basic, let's ask ourselves questions like: What's wrong with a girl playing sports? what's wrong with a boy using something pink? what's wrong with a woman that likes loose clothes? what's wrong with a man using a skirt?, I can keep going but I think I explained the message.

This issue does not have one right solution because it involves a whole society, but we can try to minimize this gender gap for future generations, they have to know that men and women have the same rights and nothing is predetermined because of the gender.
